Amboli is located in the Sawantwadi taluka of Sindhudurga district, Maharashtra state, India. Amboli is a beautiful hill station located in the lap of the Sahyadri mountain range, i.e., Western Ghats of Maharashtra. If you are coming to Amboli from Kolhapur or Belgaum, then the first place you see on the way is Nangartas Waterfalls. This waterfall is located at a distance of 10 km from Amboli village. This waterfall is located next to the Belgaum-Sawantwadi highway. At its entrance, you get to see a small, beautiful temple of Shri Nangardev. After descending from its side, you get to see the top view of this Nangartas waterfall. If you go a little further from here, you also get to see the straight view of this waterfall. Here, the rainwater from the mountains falls into a 40-foot ravine. This waterfall looks like Nangar. That is why it is called Nangartas Waterfalls. This waterfall is small but beautiful. It is also dangerous.

Reverse Waterfalls, Kavalesaad Point
When you come forward towards Amboli after seeing Nangartas Waterfalls, you will find Kavalesaad Point in the middle of the way. It is named as Kavalshet Point on the Google map. Here, you get to see reverse waterfalls. There is a small road to go to Kavalesaad Point. You can also come with your bike or car. While going to Kavalesaad Point, you will find a small check post. Here, you have to pay an entry fee of Rs 10 per person. While going, you also get to see the plateau of Karvi flowers on the side of the road. These Karvi plants flower once in seven to eight years. If you come here in the month of September, then you can see Karvi flowers.

The Reverse Waterfalls of Kavalesaad Point is located at a distance of around 9.6 KM from Amboli village. No reverse waterfalls here. It is an illusion. We feel so after seeing the natural phenomenon here. Here, the strong winds around push the flow of waterfalls upwards, which creates the illusion of reverse waterfalls. Here, the rainwater from the mountains falls into a gorge of around 400 feet. There are big mountains around. There is no space for the wind to pass. Therefore, the water starts flying upwards due to the wind pressure. And seeing this, we get the illusion of reverse waterfalls.

Avoid risky selfies here. Nothing is more important than your life. A death occurred here a few days ago. Therefore, some people have started calling the Kavalesaad point as suicide point. Enjoy the beautiful view of this beautiful waterfall, but be careful.
Amboli Waterfalls
When you move 10 km ahead from Kavalesaad point towards Sawantwadi, you first come across Amboli village. And if you move 3 km ahead from here, you see the Amboli waterfalls. This waterfall is located next to the Sawantwadi Belgaum highway. You do not get special vehicle parking here. You have to park your vehicles by adjusting them on the roadside.

There is no charge for seeing Amboli waterfalls from the roadside. If you want to go closer, go under the falls or take photos, you have to pay 20 rupees as an entry ticket. This waterfall is located between big rocks in the middle of a dense green forest. It is very crowded here during the rainy season. You see many shops on the roadside ahead of Amboli waterfalls. There, you get hot bhaji, hot corn, and hot tea. You can taste them.

Amboli Waterfalls NO-3 / Amboli Maya Waterfalls
After going 1 km ahead from Amboli Waterfalls, you see another beautiful waterfall. It is called Amboli Waterfalls No. 03 or Amboli Maya Waterfalls. Many seasonal waterfalls in Amboli Ghat suddenly appear during heavy rains. To see Amboli Maya Waterfalls, you have to pay an entry ticket of 20 rupees. But it is worth paying. This is a very beautiful waterfall. Enjoy its beauty.

Amboli Sunset Point
If you come back from Amboli waterfalls towards the Amboli village, you get to see Amboli Sunset Point on the way. Sunset Point is located at a distance of 2 KM from Amboli village. During the monsoon, the visibility in this place will not be clear due to the heavy rainfall.

Mahadevgad Viewpoint
You can directly go to the Mahadevgad viewpoint from the Amboli Sunset Point. Mahadevgad View Point is located at a distance of just 3.5 KM from Amboli village. Here, you get to see some remains of the heritage of the Maratha Empire along with the spectacular views of the hills. But during the monsoon, the visibility is not clear. There is a lot of fog. Some new constructions have been done for a tourist attraction in Mahadevgad, and you can see them. You can click photos with them.

Amboli Village
From Mahadevgad, you can come directly to Amboli village and stay here. Here you can easily find many homestays and hotels according to your budget. Most of the people of Amboli work in the Indian Army. And the rest of the people are associated with rice farming and tourism-related businesses. Some people say that this village got its name, Amboli, because of the traditional Maharashtrian dish Amboli.
Hiranyakeshi Temple
You can start your second day of travel journey from the Hiranyakeshi Temple. Hiranyakeshi Temple is located at a distance of 5 KM from Amboli village. This temple is located in a dense forest. You can bring your car here. You have to walk a little further from the parking space. This place is also the origin of the Hiranyakeshi River.

Hiranyakeshi Temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati Devi. Hiranyakeshi means one who has Golden Hair. There is a self-manifested Shivling inside the cave here. It is called Hiranyakeshwar. But people have made it famous on social media by the name Baba Waterfalls. While going, you also see a beautiful village called Chaukul. Baba Waterfalls is located on private property. To see it, one has to pay 50 rupees per person and 100 rupees separately for vehicle parking. Here you see a lot of waterfalls falling from the top of the mountain rocks.
