Dongrai Temple Hills Station is located in Kadepur village of Kadegaon taluk of Sangli district in Maharashtra state, India. Due to the presence of Dongrai Devi temple on the top of this hill station, It is called Dongrai Temple Hills Station. This is a beautiful religious place situated in the lap of Sahyadri. This is both a holy place and a tourist attraction place.

               Dongrai Temple is situated on the top of the Hills Station. You can bring your vehicles up to the foot of the temple. There is a space for parking here. From here onwards you have to walk. To reach Dongrai Temple one has to climb around 200 stairs. Near the parking space, you will find a small temple called Bagubai Temple.

             Dongrai Temple Hills Station is also called Dongrai Gad. In Marathi, Gad means fort. We don’t know exactly whether there was a fort here earlier or not. Here the entrance door of the temple itself has been made like the entrance gate of a fort. This is an ancient temple. Now it has been beautifully renovated with a modern touch. From here you can see the beautiful view of the surrounding hill station.

               There is a tradition in Dongrai temple that all the devotees first take the darshan of Bagubai and then go for the darshan of Dongrai. Dongrai is an incarnation of Goddess Tulja Bhavani. According to mythological stories, Goddess Dongrai kills the demon named Kadasur here and settles here. That’s why this village got the name Kadepur.

               You will find the other small temples around the Dongrai Devi temple. Here you can also see some wooden hands and legs. Those who have disability or Pain in their hands and legs pray here. When their illness is cured, they come here and offer wooden hands and legs to Dongrai Devi. Big fair gathers in the month of Shravan every year and thousands of people come here to take the blessings of Dongrai Devi.
