Now, this Machindragad Fort is no longer preserved in its original condition. Only some remains of the fort, embankment, bastions, and cannons remain. Their detailed information is here as below.

1) Entrance of the Machindragad Fort: This is the entrance of the Machindragad fort. As we already told you, the original fort is no longer preserved. This fort wall is renovated in this way.

2) Remains of Ancient Stone Crafts: Behind the entrance of the Machindragad fort, under a big tree you will find some beautiful stone crafts here. This includes Shivlinga, broken cannons, and other interesting artifacts.

3) Shri Machhindranath Temple: At the entrance of the Machindragad fort there is a small holy temple of Shri Machhindranath. Machhindranath was the founder of the Nath sect and was also the guru of Gorakshanath. There are also small temples of Shri Gorakshanath and Gahaninath here.

4) Cannons & Its Broken Parts: The cannons have been well placed on bullock carts in front of the Machhindranath temple. Also, there you will find some broken parts of cannons.

5) Ancient Inscription: You will find one ancient inscription on the stone deck under a tree in front of the Machhindranath temple. Maybe it will be in Devanagari. If it was in Hindi or Marathi, we could have read it easily.

6) Embankment & Bastions: In some places near the bastions the embankment of the fort is also renovated with stones. A total of 4 bastions are there in good condition. Two bastions have beautiful viewpoint towers. The remaining two bastions have saffron flags. From these bastions, you can have a wonderful view of the surrounding nature.

7) Old Deep Well: You will find one old deep well exactly behind the Machhindranath temple. An interesting fact about this well is it is made by cutting big rocks. It must have been made for drinking water.

8) Old Water Tanks: You will find small small square shaped underground water tanks on the Machindragad fort. These are made to store rainwater. These tanks are the basis for water here.

9) Lime Stone Crusher: There is one old lime stone crusher or lime pressor on the Machindranath fort behind the Macchindranath temple. In the old days, this lime pressor is used to prepare the lime by crushing the limestones. This lime was used in the construction of forts.

10) Two Unknown Tombs: Behind the Macchindranath temple, near the third bastion you will find two unknown tombs together. But nothing much is known about these two tombs. People guess that these are the tombs of fort guards. But there is no proof for this guess.
