               Ramling Bet is a beautiful natural island which is located near the Bahe village of Walwa taluka in the Sangli district of Maharashtra state, India. Ramling Bet is also called Ramling Island. In Marathi, Bet means an Island. This beautiful island is formed by the River Krishna. This is the naturally formed island. This is the only island found in the Sangli district.

           The peacefully flowing Krishna river, charming sunrise view, chirping of birds, the sound of flowing water, big rocks in the river, the big road bridge built over the river Krishna, a long walking bridge in the river, big trees, and glowing sunset view all have increased the beauty of Ramling Bet. On average one Lakh people visit here per year. This is one of the most favorite picnic spots of Sanglikars and Kolhapurkars.

           You can bring your vehicles to the Ramling Bet. There is free parking for vehicles beside the road bridge built across the river Krishna. Ramling Bet is around 1 km away from the parking space. You will have to go on walking to reach the Ramling Bet. One long walking bridge has been built in the river itself. This long walking bridge has been built with square-shaped strong stones. You will feel very amazing while walking on it. Because this walking bridge is in the Krishna River itself. This is the only way to reach Ramling Bet. If the river floods, this route also gets closed. Then you cannot go till Ramling Bet.

             Big rocks have been formed due to the speed of the flow of water in the river. The river water flows ahead breaking these rocks. Here you can click amazing photos. But always give priority to your safety. If you have brought small children, please take care of them.

         Ramling Bet is a natural island formed by the Krishna River and is also a natural bird sanctuary. Here you can see many types of birds. Mythological Story behind the Ramling Bet, Bahe

              It is said that Lord Shri Ram stayed here to rest while going back to Ayodhya from Sri Lanka after killing Ravana. Then Shri Ram made a Shivalinga from sand and worshiped Lord Shiva here. That’s why there is an ancient Shiva temple here. Its name is Ramling Temple. In this temple, you will see the idols of Lord Shri Ram, Sita Mata, and Lakshman. Because of this ancient Ramling temple, this island got the name Ramling Bet.

           There is also a small Hanuman temple behind the Ramling temple. This temple was built by Samarth Ramdas Swami. This is one of the 11 Hanuman temples built by him. There is also a small beautiful Ganesh temple next to this Hanuman temple.

             There is also an open theater next to the Ramling temple. From here you can see the beauty of River Krishna and Ramling Bet. If you want, you can also go near the river. You will find small water springs in the river between the rocks. You can also enjoy boating here in the Krishna River. You can also enjoy the beautiful sunrise and sunset views from the banks of Krishna here. Rainy Season and Winter season means from June to February is the best time to visit the Ramling Bet.
