According to local residents, In 2022, four girls reportedly lost their lives after falling near the waterfall and In 2024, a young boy drowned due to the strong current near the dam.
How to Reach Kitwad Waterfalls?
Kitwad Waterfalls is located near Kitwad Village in Chandgad Taluka, Kolhapur district, Maharashtra, close to the Maharashtra–Karnataka border. It is approximately 22 km from Belagavi, 44 km from Chandgad, 40 km from Tilari Nagar, 75 km from Amboli, and 102 km from Kolhapur City. The easiest way to reach the waterfall is by road via the Belagavi–Kolhapur National Highway. From Kitwad Village, head towards Brahmaling Temple and follow the narrow road leading to Kitwad Small Dam. Park your vehicle near the dam and walk for about 2 minutes to reach the bridge and the waterfall viewpoint. For accurate navigation, search “Kitwad Small Dam” on Google Maps instead of “Kitwad Waterfalls,” as the latter may direct you to incorrect forest routes.
